Bowstring is an independent movie series, written, filmed and produced down in New Zealand. The stories take place in a fictional place called Tahloh. There are planned to be at least three movies, hopefully more.
The first movie, The Archer's Fable, follows John, a Ranger apprentice, and his master Mendel. They follow a series of murders which lead up to the King being killed. With vengeful assassin, Galen, having taken the throne and opposition being wiped out before it can take root, John and a few others must band together and start a rebellion.
The second movie, Veil of Trees, picks up a couple years after the King was killed. Times are still bad, but on top of that, John now has an apprentice of his own to try and teach amongst the chaos. As the rebellion grows, the time for confrontation draws near. The last living relative of the dead king must reclaim the throne from Galen, for the people of Tahloh.
The third movie, A Shadow Trail, deals with the remnants of events after Galen's defeat. Unanswered questions and a certain loose end lead John and Caleb on a mission that will lead them to new places and on new adventures. They also find that Galen's conspiracy ran much further than they had realized...
